"My statement would be, 'Get to know us. Come see us, come see the work that we do. Get to know the kids, the families that go through these day-to-day struggles, these day-to-day proceedings, and understand what we really do. Literally understand it, not just bypass it or see it, but understand what we truly do and what we truly love.' Because I know that there's legislative leaders out there who have kids, and they will want better for their kids. So if you know better, you will do better."
