Cash, Care, and Recovery: A Disaster Response Toolkit for Child Care Provider Networks

This toolkit is designed to help child care provider networks and their partners understand how public systems can and should respond during a disaster, and how providers can play a meaningful role in shaping these responses.

It addresses a critical gap between the availability of disaster and public benefits and the ability of home-based child care providers to actually access and maximize these resources. The practical tools, strategies, and policy insights offered throughout are intended to equip provider networks to increase benefit uptake, advocate for more responsive supports, and help communities prepare for and navigate crises in ways that center dignity, autonomy, and economic stability.
